Randy Thomas Schelin 3/01/1956 ~ 12/6/2006 Our dearly loved husband (companion), father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, Randy Schelin, left us to meet his Heavenly Father December 6, 2006. Randy was born on March 1, 1956 in Salt Lake City to Colleen Strange Schelin and Thomas Cutler Schelin. He was raised in Great Falls, MT, Twin Falls, ID, and Salt Lake City. Randy attended Hillcrest High School, where he was Valedictorian of his graduating class. Randy married Kelly Goulding in 1978, and later divorced. He is survived by his beloved, long-time companion, Nanette Davis; his dearly loved daughter, Kristin Schelin; his cherished granddaughter, Josie Davis; step sons Christopher Daland Davis and Marcus Milton Davis; brother Timothy Schelin; sisters Susan Orr (John), Tracee Brosius (Jim); and several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents; brother Jim; and sister Trisha. Randy lived life fully and completely. He liked to work and work he did. Early in his career, he spent 15 years as head-chef at LaCaille. He loved his work and the people with whom he worked as a Structural Steel Detailer at Mountain View Steel Detail. Randy loved children, and he was magical with them. Everyone loved Randy. He is known for his mathematical and computer skills, helping "kids" of all ages with any of their needs; homework, computers, programming, etc. His love of history and politics kept life interesting for those around him, and always kept the conversation going! As self-proclaimed by Randy, his passion in life was his family. He was always there to take care of people and provide assistance. His other passions were Deep Sea Fishing, Ice Fishing, Fishing, Fishing, Hunting, Four Wheeling, Golf, and sports of any kind. The speed at which he was able to read, and the ability he had to understand and maintain the information he read was extraordinary. Randy, we loved you, and we will always love you. Randy, we miss you. Your time with us was too short. You had a beautiful heart, and a beautiful soul. God bless you. Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley Funeral Home 1007 W. South Jordan Parkway (10600 South). Friends and family may call on Tuesday from 10 - 11 a.m. at the mortuary. Condolences may be shared with the family at www.Jenkins-Soffe.com

Our hearts are heavy with passing of Randy. Both Randy and Nan were a great team together, and we always enjoyed having Randy in our lives. A large void has been made in our lives by not having Randy in it. But we know he carries with him the happy memories of this life as do we, until we see him again. Nanette, we will always love you and care for you as one of our family!

We must be related! Is there a Mildred Cutler Schelin somewhere on Randy's family tree? The names Thomas and Cutler are common to the line and being a Valedictorian is also. And the trait of being generous is also part of our family legacy. (John Jones Thomas was my grandfather. Pearl Thomas Cutler was my aunt.) It was so nice to read Randy's obituary. Thanks to whoever wrote it.

Randy my experiences with you were always novelties. You could brighten anyones day no matter how bad in may seem. I enjoyed all of my business dealings with you. You were honest to a tee in a world frought with misrepresentation.
