Regina Anderson Obituary

Regina Lee Anderson

9/29/1967 ~ 4/23/2021

Fillmore, UT—Regina Lee Anderson, 53 passed peacefully into the loving arms of her Heavenly Father on April 23, 2021 in Provo, Utah. We can only imagine her excitement at being able to embrace her dear Mom after 20 years apart, and her dear grandparents.

She was born the oldest of 3 children on September 29, 1967 in Fillmore, Utah to Scott A And Laina Nielson Anderson.

The family resided in Salt Lake City while her dad attended University of Utah. After graduation they moved to Midland Michigan where her brother, Vincent was born. They eventually migrated to Antioch, California where Courtney joined the family. She had good friends and many good memories. After Gina's high school graduation, she and her mom made their home in Fillmore. She was blessed to live in a wonderful community who accepted her as their own. This is where she gave of herself, and learned to receive.

She excelled at life; being involved in community activities. She was a member of Certs for many years and loved serving at the hospital as a Pink Lady. She was excited each year when it came time for the Community Theater to begin practice. Always planning her days so she wouldn't miss out. She would volunteer to help in the different events held in the Fillmore Park each summer and wherever she saw an opportunity.

She was involved in the Special Olympics and could be seen as one of many who carried the torch in the parade.

Gina was an avid supporter of the M.S. Walk and would set up her table in the local grocery store to obtain contributions, then she and family members would make the trek to Salt Lake every year to participate in the walk.

She loved holidays and would make a special effort to create a treat for those she loved most. The effort was part of the gift. She also was blessed with the gift of baking and loving to cook, which she willingly shared.

She loved working as a crossing guard at the local elementary/middle school. She loved the kids and took time to read with the elementary school students. She loved people and was devoted to her family and friends. She's been called a 'social butterfly'; always involved, and never meeting a stranger.

Gina loved a mean card game of Skipo, Uno, or War and to put puzzles together. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and loved serving the Lord. She enjoyed leading the singing and participating in the ward choir. One of her favorite traditions was to sing in the Messiah each Christmas season. She loved serving as a Cub Scout leader and enjoyed the boys and the leaders she worked with. She thought it was "cool" to serve in the Nursery with her grandpa after he had been released from the High Council. One of her sweetest gifts was being a caregiver for her mother who struggled with MS for many years. She was sensitive, loving, and funny and tried her best with what she was given. She had a happy and forgiving soul.

Gina is survived by her father and his wife Lorraine; her brother Vincent and Shauna, Orem, Utah; her sister Courtney and Nathan, San Francisco, California; 3 nieces and 2 nephews. Preceded in death by her mother; her grandparents, Robert A and Afton Nielson; and Alma and Lenore Anderson.

We express gratitude to those who watched over her in the Fillmore Hospital and the Delta Care Center. There are truly angels in this world.
