Our mortal life is a sacred and kind blessing from a loving Heavenly Father. Our lives are given greater depth of meaning through the relationships that we form and the lessons we receive. President Richard McDougal was one of the great mentors that offered his time, wisdom and love to shape my life, and the bond created will never be forgotten.

It is with a humble heart and deep gratitude that I offer my condolences at this very tender time to Sister McDougal and family. To my friend and mentor, God be with you till we meet again!

Bishop McDougal served my family when our baby girl died as the Savior would have. She had a terminal illness and passed at home. We called Bishop McDougal and he assured us he would arrange for her to be picked up. He came personally, wrapped her in her little blanket and had my husband hold her in the car as Bishop Mc Dougal drove to the mortuary. It did not end there. He drove to our home and picked us up for the funeral. He instructed my husband every step of the way. It was truly as though the Saviour stood beside us. I have loved him for it for the past 29 years. Thank you Bishop McDougal. I pray your family is tended to as tenderly at this difficult time, as you tended to ours. May God bless you all. He taught me much about the gospel and serving the Lord, he was patient with me, he was an example of his teaching, and then the personal care for me as an individuals. We had many one-on-one visits that meant a lot to me, even when he was setting me straight. It seems like yesterday, and he will always be remembered by me. My heart goes out to Sister McDougal and the family. Thanks for sharing such a wonderful man with us all!
