Robbie White Obituary

1951 ~ 2020
Our dear sister, aunt, and friend, Robbie Anne White, passed away on May 9th as the result of a three year battle with cancer.
Robbie was born September 9, 1951 in Lakewood, Ohio to Marie L. and Charles B. White. She was baptized at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Avon Lake, Ohio. She grew up in Bountiful, Utah and lived in Farmington for the past 15 years. She graduated from Viewmont High School, attended Utah State University and graduated from Weber State College with a degree in physical education. She later received her Masters Degree from BYU. Robbie spent 30 years teaching physical education in the Davis School District where she made many lifelong friends and was loved by her students. She proudly finished her career as a District Physical Education Specialist developing physical education curriculum for elementary students.
What defined Robbie was her love of the outdoors and four-legged creatures (mainly horses and her beloved dogs). She was a woman of many interests. She was involved in rodeo both in high school and college and loved everything Western. Her love of horses lasted throughout her life and resulted in many lifelong friendships. Robbie was a legendary lover of dogs and supported and volunteered with organizations dedicated to the well being of animals. Robbie was happiest on a long hike with her dogs accompanied by her walking buddies, time at "the barn", on road trips with her family (especially if it involved casinos), drinking a glass of a dry red wine, reading a good book, and watching old movies (anything made before 1950!).
Robbie loved her family and was so proud of the accomplishments of her nieces, and great- nieces, and great-nephews.
Robbie is survived by her sister Pat Mize who was by her side throughout her health ordeals, brother Casey (Chuck) White, longtime companion Steve Grant who made sure her home was a showcase, nieces Anne Schuster (Walter), Nicole Stone (Scott), Jennifer Wiser (Darren), her great- nieces and great-nephews Audrey and Connor Stone, Thomas and Spike Schuster, Cassidy and Jack Wiser, and her beloved dogs Mugsie and Wylie. She was preceded in death by parents and sister Joan Akins.
A special thank you to the many friends, too many to name (you know who you are!) who were always there for Robbie, especially her hospital posse (Bull Manfredi, Kerry Fenwick, Dr. Regina Drueding, and her sister Pat) who offered invaluable support and advocacy throughout her cancer journey.
A celebration of life will occur sometime in the future when we can all gather together.
To honor Robbie, please consider a donation in her name to Best Friends Animal Sanctuary.

On this day, May 9th in the forgettable year of 2020, we lost a most unforgettable woman.
She was a multi-faceted gem of a woman - she had green eyes, beautiful brown hair and a heart of pure gold.
She was the perfect blend of grit and determination and tender love and compassion.
She lived her life on a broad stage with many experiences and friendships. She loved her home in Farmington and welcomed all to share. Her yard was designed for all to share but most importantly her birds and butterflies; and if you were lucky you could enjoy the late nite serenade of her crickets from the back patio.
At whatever level your friendship was - you could not deny she had a positive influence in your life. She sure did mine - made me a better person - a better man. Her name is Robbie White and I loved her! -Steve

Dear sister, you’ve been gone a year now. My heart still breaks at losing you. I miss so many things about you. I miss our trips to the tractor store, I miss going to IHOP for cakes. Most of all I miss the time that we spent together those last three years. We grew as friends and sisters. You will forever be with me in everything that I do. You’re in the blue sky, you’re in the mountains. You’re always searching out new trails. Muggsy and Wylie are
doing well, Casey and I take good care of them and talk to them all the time about their mom and how much she loved them. Rest in peace my dear sister, know that I will always love you. Pat

No words how sad I am about this news. I have loved her always. I started really looking a year ago to find her. Couldn’t than just found out she’s past away. I’m heartbroken she’s came to my dream last night and I feel so much peace! She was my gym teacher at Millcreek Jr. High. She was a friend as well. She would let me hang out after school we’d talk I’d help her with things. She gave me confidence, in jr high you don’t have allot of that so much change at that age. I have thought about her through the years. I I’ve run into her and when I first got married in 89 we lived in the same complex and I saw her at the pool. I still have what she wrote in my year book. She didn’t do that a ton so I knew I meant something. I’m so sorry for your loss to all of you! The world lost a great, special, amazing, tender, loyal, funny, and smart women.
Thank you Vaughn ( that’s what I called her)
Love you so much!

Dear Robbie. There isnt a day that I dont think of you and want to call you up and tell you something. When I would find any kind of bug in her house, I would have to catch it and release. I had a bee in my house and my first thought was Robbie would want me to figure out a way to catch it and take it outside. If I come across a good book, I want to call Robbie and share it with her. I will forever miss our girl nights and sitting outside. I feel so blessed that she included me in her circle of friends. I wont ever forget you friend. Love you!!

Simply said: Robbie White was one of the finest people to have ever walked this earth. Anyone who met her was blessed to have crossed paths with this beautiful soul. I can imagine no greater motivation to reach heaven than the certainty of spending more time with Robbie. Thank you, Robbie, for so enriching my life.

I miss you already, Robbie! We had such fun teaching and presenting together. The professionalism you possessed was second to none. I became a better educator and person because of you and Kerry. We worked hard, but I still can't believe I got paid to work alongside such an amazing, funny, and dedicated educator. You touched and enriched the lives of hundreds of teachers, and thousands of students. Thank you for being a part of my life for many, many years.

Robbie was a very special person and a "wise wonderful soul" who loved nature and all living creatures. She will be loved and will continue to live in our hearts. She is now free of suffering and pain and in the embrace of a loving God. When walking and hiking I hope to see glimpses of Robbie in nature. Joe and I and all of her friends will miss her dearly.

My beloved sister, my heart is shattered. I tried so hard to keep you with us. You fought so hard to stay.. I miss you so very much. I will always hold you close in everything I do. Casey and I, along with your many wonderful friends will love and care for Wylie and Mugsie. They miss you terribly. The love you had for them could never be matched, but we will always look after them. Knowing you are with mom and Joan brings me comfort. You are now together, along with all of the precious pets Waiting for you at the Rainbow Bridge. Rest In Peace dear sister. I love you.
