SEAN DURAN

Sean C. Duran 5/28/1986~3/14/2010 Happy Birthday Sean I know we should be used to not seeing you on your birthday, last year you were in Iraq and the year before you were training to go, but this year is different because you are no longer on this Earth and we all have heavy hearts this year knowing you aren't coming back. You always made everyone around you smile and laugh and feel like their day was a little brighter for having you near. Your "Duranitan-ium", as your friends would say, was what drew people to you and made them want to better themselves because of the way you lived your life. Your fellow officers are training their men the way you trained them and by this you are still changing the world. I hope you like the butterflies, they'll be carrying your birthday wishes to you. I had a Teddy Bear made out of one of your ACU's and I give it a hug and think I'm hugging you. We're all having a hard time accepting that you are gone, I hope you aren't too far away to hear us talk to you, we still do. I hope you can read what everyone posts on your Facebook page, all your battle buddies and friends still miss you and all your unofficial other mothers, fathers, sisters and cousins. You were the son everyone wishes they had, I was just lucky enough to be the one who had you. I hope you know you will never be forgotten. For those of you who were blessed to know Sean I know we are all better for the experience, for those of you not fortunate to have met him he was "The Man." He was taken away from us too soon. I'm looking forward to seeing you again, remember the time you surprised me when you came back from Iraq? I hope you'll surprise me again someday soon.
