Sharan Hale Obituary

Sharan Fogg Hale
1933~2018
South Jordan, UT-Heaven is rejoicing as one of their most beautiful souls has returned home. Sharan (Cherie) Fogg Hale graciously passed away on October 26, 2018 in her South Jordan home. She was born on September 22, 1933 in Salt Lake City, UT to Maxine Ball and LeGrand Silver. She was raised, along with her three siblings in the Salt Lake area. She graduated from South High and attended the University of Utah where she was affiliated with the Delta Gamma Sorority.
She fell in love with her childhood friend William Robert Fogg and they were married in the Salt Lake Temple on August 26, 1953. They were blessed with five children and enjoyed 18 years together before Bill passed away while on his last flight after 20 years of flying and serving as a Captain for the Utah National Guard. This is when Cherie's true strength was brought to light and she became the Matriarch of the family.
Cherie was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served righteously in several callings. She had a strong faith and was a great example to those around her. She worked 20 years at Alta View Hospital, until she retired and moved to St. George, UT. Her heart was open and she was always there for her family and friends to give advice, wisdom, and provide selfless acts of unconditional love. Because of her exceptional personality, loyalty and compassion, she had several lifelong friends. She loved tennis, golf, skiing and enjoyed supporting her grandchildren in all of their sporting/dancing/singing events. Before she passed, she promised to look in on us from time to time.
No matter where Cherie lived, she made her home a place of beauty and joy. We were always welcome and felt the warmth of her spirit and always left with our bellies full. We are grateful for our Sunday/Thanksgiving dinners and will forever picture her in the kitchen with a smile ready to serve us her meals made with love. Because of Grandma Cherie we have countless traditions that we will carry on.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Elevation Hospice and Cherie's nurse Alissa who provided extraordinary care. Cherie is survived by her children: Kristine Hafer (Matt), Brad Fogg (Tami), Teri Flynn (Patrick), son-in-law Eric Denney, and Nicole Fogg Slivers. She leaves behind her sister Susan Perschon (Mark); sisters-in-law Joan Fogg Cunningham and Marsha Fogg Fryer; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; as well as her nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers Steve and Roger; husbands Bill Fogg, Bland Phillips, B.R. Hale; and daughter Michelle Denney.
A viewing will be held for family and friends on Thursday, November 1, 2018 from 6:00pm-8:00pm at the River 2nd Ward, 1540 West 10400 South. Funeral services will be on Friday, November 2, 2018 at the same location, at 12:00 pm with an additional viewing before the funeral services from 10:30am-11:30am. Funeral Directors: Memorial Holladay~Cottonwood Mortuary. Memories may be shared at www.memorialutah.com. Interment will be at the Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park located at 3401 S. Highland Drive.

I had the privilege of meeting Sharan a couple of times when she visited the doctors office. She made me feel as if I were a part of the family even though I only spent a few minutes with her. What a wonderful example of living life to the end with such beauty and grace. I am thankful she crossed my path before she returned home. I have been truly blessed by her presence!! My condolences to her loving and supportive family.

Dear Fogg Family,

Your dear mother taught me the Operating Room Scheduling job that I took over after she retired, she sat by my side and taught me everything she knew, not only the job but of people and personalities that made the job more enjoyable. We had many heart to heart conversations, she truly is an angel. I will always remember her. Love ya always Sharon Turner
