Sid Eggett Obituary

1939 ~ 2011
Sigrid Madsen Eggett arrived on December 9, 1939 to Clara Belle & Eugene Madsen. She left very peacefully on November 17, 2011, with her adoring family by her side. Sid married Larry Eggett on September 21, 1959. Together they shared a life full of love, laughter and adventure. They shared life together for 52 years and then some, give or take a few.
Together they had 5 children, whom they raised with love: Marci, Larry, Shawn, Jodi & Nikki.
Grandma was the favorite job she ever had. She was blessed with 12 grandkids and 8 great- grandkids, with one on the way. Grandma Sid and Grandpa Larry have more kids and grandkids than they can count, they loved them all the same.
Her life was so precious and everyone who ever met her felt the warmth of her heart. There was no stranger in grandma's life, just friend's she hadn't made yet.
Mom loved to cook, bake, paint, sew and shop. Always with her kids and family in mind. Every single Holiday was a full blown event. Birthdays were made to be a celebration like no other. We will carry on her traditions as they meant the world to her.
She has left us so many wonderful family traditions that are part of each of our lives and will be cherished forever.
She taught us all how to truly love one another with a gentle heart and soft touch. She loved having all her kids together in one room, laughing and telling stories.
Something she loved more than anything was listening to her sweetheart sing. Her favorite song he sang to her was "Roses are Red".
She was a full time wife, mother, grandma, baby sitter, and homemaker. She worked at Lakeview Hospital for the past 17 years and enjoyed her relationships she made there.
She was preceded in death by her mother, step-father Lance Downing whom she was sealed to earlier this year, father, step-mother.
Survived by her husband and forever sweetheart, Larry: children: Marci (Keith) Rasmussen, Larry Jr., Shawn (Tammy), Jodi (Tick) Hugoe, Nikki (Aaron) Nelson; Grandkids: Dixon, Russell, Mandy, Skyler, Ashli, Charity, Heather, Shealee, Bobbi, Nate, Maddie, and Vinny; brothers, Dick and Scott, as well as her extended family and friends too numerous to mention, including her lunch bunch gang.
Special thanks to Dr. Sandra Buys, Dr. Estelle Harris and the incredible staff at Huntsman Cancer Institute that gave loving, compassionate care to our mother.
We love you to the moon and back!

Not sure what to say?

November 27, 2011

Larry and Family,
We have been out of the Country and just now have received word about Sid. We are deeply touched about the passing of this very special Lady. Sid was vibrant, outgoing, spirted, spontaneous and always so much fun. We were always joking and kidding around and she made each day a little brighter. Our prayers are with you and your family. Dear Larry & children:
John and I are out of town for Thanksgiving so we missed the opportunity to visit with you prior to the services. Please know that our prayers and sympathy are with you. You were wonderful neighbors and friends, and we remember all of you with fondness. Of course, Sid has a special place in our memory book. I have admired her since my childhood. Her exhuberance was infectious. The photo you chose certainly displays that and shows her wonderful smile. We will remember that and so much more. Bless you in this time of grief.

With warm regards,
John and Sheryl Allen

Dear Eggett family - I cannot begin to express my sadness at the passing of Sid. I have known and loved Sid for the last 17 years as a co-worker at Lakeview Hospital. We called her the Mother of our Radiology Department. Sid was always upbeat and loving to her co-workers, patients and families. She will be greatly missed but never forgotten. Love and prayers to you all.

Larry and family - So sad to hear about Sid. We especially had a great time with her during our 50th class reunion meetings, not forgetting her tireless energy and thought she put into the quilt with all the classmates names and presented it at our dinner for raffling. She always met us with a smile and a hug. We enjoyed her. Gary & Lois O'Brien

I have been blessed with Sid's friendship for 28 years. So many wonderful memories we shared together. I will miss all the letters and cards for the holidays, my birthday and especially St. Patty's Day! Sid's love for me never faltered and she always believed in me and encouraged me. I will never forget her beautiful smile and forgiving eyes. Thank you for introducing me to the singer that became our favorite together (besides Larry), Gene Watson. We really tore it up in the day! My favorite is when you wrote to me thanks for all the years of happiness and sads - the fun & the mistakes, the laughs & tears, the sharing & caring & friendship & all the "memory makers". God bless you my dear little friend. I now wish you the dreams and surprises and ice-cream colored days. You will always be a special part of my life. To Larry and the her beautiful children, I wish you comfort at this time and always.

For 17 years I was greeted by Sid when I went to Lakeview Hospital to pick up my work. She was always smiling and asking me about my life. We shared a lot of trials and great stories over the years. My favorite times were when the Utah Jazz had a game and she was all dressed up in Jazz garb and decorated her area with posters, pennants, and other memorabilia. She made all the holidays fun. I couldn't think of a better way for me to start each day. I miss you and love you. My sympathy goes out to the entire family.

Larry and Kids - Sid was a wonderful neighbor mom to me while growing up. I could stop by and visit any time for a chat, a snack, or maybe even a haircut. I just remember having fun everytime I saw her and she always had a beautiful smile. I am so sorry for your loss.
With sympathy,
