Stanley Orlob Obituary

Stanley Earl Orlob, 71, died Aug. 31 in Salt Lake City, Utah after a month-long fight to recover from complications arising from brain tumor removal.
Stan was born in Salina, Utah on Aug 23, 1944 to Wesley Earl Orlob and Dorothy Borg Orlob Jamieson.
Stan's lifelong love of the art and science of photography began as a young child and continued to nourish his creativity throughout his life. His career with Western and later Delta Air Lines spanned from 1966 until his retirement. Stan spent many summers at the family's Uinta Mountains cabin, built by his grandfather.
Stan is survived by his three children, Tiffany Orlob Murfitt (49), Sean Orlob (48), and Patrick Orlob (35); three grandchildren, Oliver, Corwin, and Rose; and by his goddaughters Celena and Kiara Willams, and their mother Vanisha Williams.
A celebration in honor of Stan's life will be held on Sunday, Sept. 6 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Art Access Gallery, 230 S 500 W #125, SLC.

Stan, in a place where there were thousands of passengers and a few dozen agents to track and serve them, situations can slip sideways through absolutely no ones fault. But you Stan, always held up your end of the stick. In whatever capacity you were assigned, you were alert and able to draw on your bedrock of knowledge and strategy built up over the years. A lot of people have a lot to be thankful for because of you.

Stan took pictures of the commissary truck after a plane wing scraped the side of it, the pictures probably saved my job with Western. My condolences to the family, he was a great friend .

God needed a photographer. Stan was a good friend
to everyone that knew him at the airlines. May the wind be at your back and have a camera at your eye.

Stan and I met while in training for Western Airlines. You couldn't help but like him. He was your friend. If you needed his help he gave it willingly and ended it with a warm smile. He will be missed. My condolences to family. Robert E. Lee.

To Stan's Family
On behalf of the Intermountain Chapter of the
Delta Pioneers (all 450 of us) we wish to add our condolence to you. We all enjoyed working with Stan both at Western Airlines and at Delta Airlines. Our lives have been made better by our association with him. I can honestly say I never saw Stan loose his temper or loose his cool dealing with the passengers. He was an asset to the airline.
We will miss his humor at our meetings.
