Oh Babe!! You will never know how much I loved you even if I told you a hundred times a day. You were the most wonderful man that ever entered my life. We always had fun no matter what we did, working or just enjoying each others company. My heart aches, and I would love to have gone with you on this journey. I know when it is my time you will be there waiting for me. I hope you get to know my Dad, I know he would love you.
I love you and will see you soon!!!

LaVern and family - I was so saddened when Anita told me that Stuart had passed. I was so hopeful you both had reached a time to enjoy more doing of things you wanted to do rather than what had to be done. You have a lovely family and I hope you will take care of each other as you make this next journey. Stuart will remain with you in spirit. I will try to reach you soon - Mary McConaughy

Dear LaVern...We just heard the news today about Stuart. We are so very saddened by his passing and sorry for the great loss to you and your family. Almost all of my most cherished memories working at Utah Power and Pacificorp involve Stuart and his marvelous ability to make you laugh with a story. I'm not sure if we laughed harder at the story or the storyteller, we would all have tears running down our faces as he told about days on the line crews or the chicken haired guy in downtown Portland. Years ago when we were all shipped to the Northwest with Pacificorp, Stuart helped to make that transition more bearable with his full of life personality. Golfing, movies, dinner out or dinner in with Stuart as the chef, he was always up for a good time. The world was definitely a better place with Stuart in it and we are all blessed to have known him.

LaVern (Shirley), I am so sorry. I only met Stuart the few times I ran in to him and you but a person could always see the love the two of you had together. No words will ease your pain right now. All I can tell you is that, I found, it gets easier but never seems to get better, You just hang in there. You have always been special to me.
Love Kalani.

LaVern and family. I am so sorry for you and your families loss. It saddens me to here this terrible news. Stuart always made my day of work at Dr. Sorensens office a pleasurable one. My studies with Stuart always took twice as long because I loved to talk fishing with him. Manilla will always remind me of Stuart and his family. You know where I am at in manilla and work if you need anything please don't hesitate. My prayers are with you.

When we think of Stuart we think of good times and lots of laughter. Stuart was an exceptional person; one who could make you laugh at the drop of a hat. We are saddened to hear of his passing but know we will one day see him again. His visits to our home in Oregon were memorable beyond words. And boy could he cook! Our times out with him will never be forgotten. Going to Tad's for chicken and dumplings was a delight. LaVern, our thoughts and prayers are with you. Until we meet again, Stuart, our hearts will be a little less full. Brent and Jennifer Worlton, Arizona

Sherry and I wish to express our deepest sorrow for your loss. Stuart was a special person with that rare gift which made one feel welcomed as if you were an old friend even though he had just met you. He will be missed by all who knew him. I worked with Stuart (Hummer) in the Portland Dispatch office. He made a great co-worker, with a fantastic sense of humor. He would talk of the times he would spend with his grand children, and fishing at Flaming Gorge Reservoir. I will miss him.

I will always cherish my memories of Stuart. What a fine example of a wonderful and kind individual.
Stuart and I worked together on the line crew and in system dispatch. Some of my favorite memories are golfing with Stu in Utah and Oregon. He always made the game challenging and fun. We would go out with Marlin Green, Dave Davis, George Ozounian, Kent Walker and anyone else that wanted to participate.
Stu was a great cook and enjoyed having a group over for dinner on weekends when we were working in Porland. It was not unusual for Stuart to organize some function for Marlin Green, Steve Ashbaker and myself. Many times he and I would go out during the week. He loved to go to the Olive Garden where we would chat and consume a couple bottles of wine until we got ‘stupid’. (his word)
Stu made work an enjoyable place to be. His many stories and jokes entertained and kept everyone laughing. He liked to tweek the bosses at every opportunity. Stuart, Bill Lipsey and Leroy Nixon would barbeque on shift and it was a grand cook-off. I remember even after Stu retired he came to the NTO and cooked for a summer party barbeque.
Stuart loved LaVern and his family above all things. When we were together in SLC or Portland his favorite subject was his family and how truly terrific they were to him. I do not recall anytime was negative in regards to his family.
Stuart was my very good friend and I will miss him until I have the opportunity to see him again.
I am sure he will have some stories to share with all of us.

LaVern & Stuart, I just want to thank you for being of my life. I'am so blessed to have such wonderful God Parents! You and Stuart were there for me when I lost both of my parents. At times like this, I remind myself, "it is better to of had and lost, rather than never of had at all."
God Bless....

The only things bigger than Stuart's voice were his generous heart and smile. He was always so happy to give and share. Steve loved to swap fishing stories with Stuart and so looked forward to the derby at the Gorge. My thanks to the Hembury's for always making me feel so welcome.
