V. Jeppsen Obituary

V. Glenn Jeppsen 1930 ~ 2004  Glenn was born on October 29, 1930 to Virgil Dan and Phoebe Mae North Jeppsen. He spent his last day in mortality doing what he enjoyed, reading the scriptures, gardening, fixing a sprinkler pipe, shopping with his wife Norma, and eating his favorite dessert. While retiring for bed he had a heart attack on April 21, 2004.  He loved poetry and had a refreshing sense of humor. He was a man without guile, generous and kind. He was willing to share his temporal possessions and time with others.  He graduated from Box Elder High School in 1948. He served in the Air Force and upon returning was married and sealed to his first sweetheart Agnes Christensen, in the Logan Temple on April 3, 1952. They had six children. He worked for Tremonton City, Thiokel, Andersens Ford, and KSL Television. In 1976, he and our mother purchased the Ken-Dell Motel in Salt Lake City and operated it for 25 years. At age 67, without previous musical training, he took lessons and learned to play the string bass. He enjoyed playing in the Bill Curtis Combo Band and the Jazz Band at the Bountiful Senior Citizen Center. He had a passion for buying, restoring and selling old cars..  He enjoyed his service as a Bishop in the Salt Lake 22nd ward.  After our mother died, dad fell in love with another sweetheart Norma Casper, and was married on July 30, 1999. They have enjoyed five wonderful years together. She has been an angel. We have all enjoyed the benefits of a blended family.  He is survived by his wife, Norma; children, Bruce Jeppsen, Berna Marie (Daryl) Cook, Rod (Terry) Jeppsen, Cril (Randy) Gorringe, Scott (Vicki) Jeppsen, and Harv (Nanette) Jeppsen; Step-children, Debra (Jim) Kentner, Kurt (Tami) Casper, Mark (Sandra) Casper, Sandra (Paul) Curtis, and Bruce (Rachel) Casper; 28 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; Glade (Jolene) Jeppsen, brother; Ivy Walker, aunt; Denice Jeppsen (daughter-in-law); Jacque Harding (sister-in-law); Porter Christensen (brother-in-law). Preceded in death by his wife Agnes, his parents, brother, Brent, sister, Sherrie, and grandson Troy Wilson. Funeral services will be held Monday, April 26, 2004, 11 a.m. at the Orchard 2nd Ward, 3707 South 800 West, Bountiful. Friends may call Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 North Main Street, and Monday from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to the service at the church. Interment-Lakeview Cemetery.
