VONDA CLARK Obituary

Vonda Nelson Iverson Clark 1920 ~ 2010 Our beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, 90 years old, returned to her Heavenly Father on December 15th, 2010.She was born on June 1, 1920, to Bertrand Heber Nelson and Caroline Luzell Leavitt, in Lewiston, Idaho. She graduated from North Cache High School, Richmond Utah. After graduation, she met and married Wendell W. Iverson. They had four children. Later they divorced. She moved from Utah, to California, where she married Aubrey Clark. She worked hard at being a wonderful homemaker, but did pick up odd jobs, where she could, to put extra money into the home, especially at Christmas time. While in California, she got a full time job as the Department Manager for the Harris Company (10 years), and then she decided to work for herself, so she purchased, and operated, a beauty salon, which was located in Palm Springs, California. She loved cooking, crocheting, doll making, and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Aubrey Clark; her sister, Joyce Dehart; Brother-Don Nelson, Guy Nelson, Ray Nelson, Keith Nelson, and Richard Nelson; and Granddaughter, Natalie Iverson. Vonda is survived by June Nelson Gordon (Sister), her sons; Lee W. Iverson (Joan), Dennis H. Iverson (Debbie), Corey B. Iverson (Patty); her daughter, Carolyn Jacobs (Mike), 17 grandchildren, and 39 great grandchildren. A special thanks to Mary Joe Ricks, who gave her such wonderful and loving care, for the last months of her life! Funeral Services will be held at the Larkin Sunset Garden, 1950 East, 10600 South, Sandy, Utah, on Monday, December 20th, at 11:00 a.m. A viewing will be held just prior to the services, from 10:00-10:45 a.m. Interment will be at the Mountain View Memorial Cemetery, 3115 East 7800 South, Cottonwood Heights, Utah.

Oh! How we loved Aunt Vonda. She had such a warm and loving countenance whenever she was near. I loved her laugh; I can hear it now and I will miss it as well as so much more. You can be so proud of the lovely person she was as I know she is proud of all of you. The funeral was such a loving tribute to her. She loved it!

My thoughts & prayers go out to the entire Iverson family. Vonda was the first person I met when moving to California.(she rented us our apt.) and quickly became my friend. She was a beautiful person inside and out and will be missed by many.

I always loved Grandma Vonda, even though I wasn't her granddaughter, she always treated me like I was. I have never tasted better candy then what she made every year when Christmas rolled around. What a sweet and special lady she was! Love, Amy Donovan
