Wesley Roy Brown
1932 ~ 2021
Wesley Roy Brown, beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend died on October 12, 2021 in Twin Falls, Idaho at the age of 89. He is preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Evelyn Marie Brown. Roy was born in Boise, Idaho on April 21, 1932 to Wesley Leroy Brown and Ruby Glenn Brown. He is survived by a sister, Sharon Christina Dalton and a brother, Richard Arnold Brown. He is preceded in death by his brother, Fon Glenn Brown.
Roy married Evelyn in 1951 in Boise and they are the parents of 4 children, Teresa Marie Lowrey, Cynthia Marie Glover (Greg), David Roy Brown (Iliana), Tamara Marie Wilstead (Tab), 24 grandchildren, 83 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren. He graduated from Grangeville High School and the University of Utah. He was a Certified Public Accountant and businessman.
He loved fishing, boating, water skiing and snow skiing, in addition to traveling with mom to tennis tournaments and baseball games. He enjoyed Brigham Young University basketball and football games. He also loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Roy was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in many assignments including twice as a counselor in the Stake Presidency, President of the Pennsylvania Pittsburgh Mission and President of the Missionary Training Center in Hamilton, New Zealand. He loved missionaries and missionary work.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at the Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary 1007 W Jordan Pkwy, (10600 So.) South Jordan, Utah. Viewing will be at 11:45-12:45pm with a memorial service at 1pm. Interment to follow at Larkin Sunset Gardens.
