Wilma Patricia Tolman Mikesell
1939 to 2025
Wilma "Par Mikesell
Wilma Patricia Tolman Mikesell was born on June 14, 1939, the eldest child of John E. and Wilma Tolman. She was raised in a loving home in Pocatello, Idaho, alongside her three brothers--Elbert, Corwin, and Darrel-and her sister. Julieann. She graduated from Pocatello High School and carried the values of her childhood with her throughout her life.
After moving to Salt Lake City, she met the love of her life, LeRoy Mikesell. They were married on April 25,1959, in Pocatello, Idaho, and one year later were sealed for time and eternity in the Salt Lake Temple. Together they raised four children: Robyn Willoughby, David, Suzan(Nickolas) Schirner, and Brian(Denise). Over the years, they opened their hearts to many others and lovingly claimed several "adopted" children as their own. Patricia cherished her family, which grew to include 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Pat was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She especially loved serving in the Primary, where the children knew her affectionately as "Sister Pat." She found joy as a visiting teacher and served faithfully as a visiting supervisor as well as ward historian.
Her hands were rarely still--she enjoyed ceramics, gardening, crocheting, and playing the piano. Most of all she loved spending time with her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her granddaughter Hope Mikesell; her brother, Elbert Tolman; and her parents, John E. and Wilma Tolman.
Pat's family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to the caregivers and staff (and some very special people) of Escalante Assisted Living and the staff of Utah Home and Health and Hospice, for their warm, tender, and compassionate care.
