Alisha Jaramillo Obituary

Alisha Jaramillo
Alisha "Leesh" Lene Jaramillo, 25, entered our Lord's arms on Jan. 1, 2011, in Helendale. Her beauty and strength will forever inspire her family and friends. She will be remembered for her kind heart, sensitive spirit, brilliant mind, sincere generosity and infectious smile. Her many talents and great sense of humor touched the lives of so many that knew her.
Alisha was born on Sept. 5, 1985, in Apple Valley, to her parents, James and Pamela Jaramillo. Leesh was raised in the high desert for 18 years and had resided in Silver Lakes, Calif., for four years. She was a graduate of the Class of 2004 from Barstow High School, and pursued her education in theatre arts at Fullerton College for three years. She also attended Barstow Community College in theatre for one year, and continued to work with the theatre program after completing her studies there.
Her parents remember her high school days, cheering for the Barstow Aztecs, and working hard to meet the principals honor roll. She was always active in the high schools Associated Student Body, and loved her "Drama Class" and was so proud to be a member of the Thespian Club. She later was active in the Silver Lakes Entertainers, High Desert Performing Arts and Community Plays. For all that knew her, her goal in life was to become a promising actress or singer.
She was employed in retail sales as a youth and worked as a server in Fullerton while she worked on her career in college. Later, she moved closer to be with her family and continued as a server and bartender at the Inn in Silver Lakes, Calif.
Her many talents included cheerleading, singing, poetry, acting, dancing and performing arts. Leesh enjoyed taking pictures, writing, music, movies, painting and making hair pieces. You could find her watching a favorite TV program like Greys Anatomy, Will & Grace, Felicity, Dawsons Creek and Sex & the City, or replaying an old movie favorite like The Wizard of Oz, A Lot Like Love, Clueless or Grease. She loved all types of music and enjoyed listening to Jewel, the Beatles, Fiona Apple, Beyonce, Britney Spears, Nora Jones, Johnny Cash, Elvis, N Sync and Bright Eyes. You could find her during a quiet time reading a book by Francesca Lia Block. Her favorite sport of course was cheerleading and dance, and her special dining places was in Venice Beach or Big Bear or having eats at Yoshi's in Victorville or Robertito's in Barstow. But most of all, she loved spending time with her family. Her beautiful face, her wonderful sense of humor and her generous giving of herself will be deeply missed by so many family and friends.
Alisha is survived by her parents, James and Pamela Jaramillo of Helendale, Calif., two brothers, Jared Jaramillo and his wife, Anastasia of Barstow, Calif., and Jonathan Jaramillo of Helendale, Calif.; a sister, Adrianna Jaramillo of Barstow, Calif.; grandfather, Andres Jaramillo (late) of Barstow, Calif.; grandmothers, Tanny Jaramillo and Genevieve Cordova both of Barstow, Calif., and Sylvia Cordova of Riverside, Calif.; nieces, Clementine and Mille Jaramillo of Barstow, Calif.; and many close aunts, uncles, cousins and nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Alisha's Life will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2011, at the Silver Lakes Clubhouse, 27801 Mountain Springs Road in Helendale, Calif. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Alisha's name, to Mohave Desert Bank, 15055 Vista Road #6, Helendale, CA. 92342.
Arrangements entrusted to Horizon Memorial Services of Barstow, 760-252-5222.

Pam and family,

I'm so very sorry for the loss of Alisha. We were in choir at the college together a couple of years ago and it was my priviledge to have known her. She was such an awesome person with great talent. My prayers are with you and your family during this difficult and heartbreaking time.

With much sadness,
Tiffany (from DCB)

I love you and miss you so much. You knew how to bring a smile to so many peoples faces. I loved that i could always just call you up and you would know if i needed a pick me up and youd sing brittney spears. It would always make me laugh. Im dont have anyone to sing that to me anymore. But ill always remember it amd it will continue to always make me smile. I love you leesh.
