Carl Campbell
Carl "Rusty" Campbell was born in Barstow on Aug. 24, 1941. He passed away Nov. 4, 2010 in Ontario, Calif.
Rusty graduated from Barstow Union High School, class of 1960. He played the trumpet in local school bands from the 5th grade through his senior year. Rust was a meat cutter for many years as his profession.
He is preceded in death by his parent, Frank and Pauline Campbell; and brother, Benny.
He is survived by his brother, Earl of Oregon; sister, Barbara of Texas; and he leaves behind many friends with fond memories of him.
We will always remember Rusty for his bright red hair and happy smile. He was a good guy, good friend, and good "Riffian". May God grace and our Saviors love bring comfort and peace to all his family and friends.

Rusty was a friend of mine for 32 years. We spent many fun times together. One he cherished the most was when I took him to the last Rams game at the coliseum in LA.
He always had a big smile when he met people, no one was a stranger.
He loved his family and often spoke of his childhood in Barstow. And his best friend Doug, was always a topic of conversation. He will be missed.

I remember Rusty, all the way back to the third grade, Henderson school, Jr High and all thru High School. He was the greatest friend a person could have, I remember he and I going to vist John Pilot, after his train accident. He was alway a true friend. We played in the band all thru grade school, and in High School. God bless his family, love Louie & Hope Sanchez

Rusty and I worked, drank, and had good times together. Only talked him one time over the last twenty years, while he lived in Mexico.

I've known Rusty since the 7TH grade... we met in 1954 when I moved to Barstow. We spend many hours listening to Elvis-Chuck Berry and Little Richard...later in life we went to concert's; Rolling Stones-Rod Stewart-Led Zeppelin- Chuck Berry and Bo Diddley.
Rusty had a great sense of humor and was always ready with a smile and a joke.
And cars...we could talk for hours about how we would customize our future cars. He was very proud of is "55 Ford Panel" his Porsche and his Corvette.
I know that one of his most cherished memories was his roll in the Jr Class Play...he said he always wanted to get back on the stage. He also wrote songs and he had a great voice. Sing on Rusty R.I.P. Doug
