Andrew David "Andy" Hauge

West Des Moines - Andy Hauge, 34, passed away Monday, December 18, 2017, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines surrounded by family and friends. Memorial services will be held 10 a.m. Friday, December 22, 2017, at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Grimes. Private internment will be held following at Jordan Cemetery in West Des Moines.

Andy was born May 5, 1983, in Des Moines, Iowa, to David and Roxanne (Kearney) Hauge. He graduated from Dallas Center-Grimes High School and later the University of Northern Iowa, where he met his wife, Anna (Annie) Gaines.

Andy was a person who always did what needed to be done. He was devoted to his wife and family, always looking for ways to help with any problem. He worked with his hands as a craftsperson and handyman throughout his life and in his job at Lowe's. He worked with his heart, showing fierce loyalty to the people around him and always finding a solution while maintaining his can-do spirit. Whether it was fishing or camping, he loved spending time outdoors.

Andy is survived by his wife, Annie Hauge, his parents, David and Roxanne Hauge of Grimes, brother, Matt Hauge of West Des Moines; mother- and step-father-in-law, Ellen and Curt Green of Des Moines, father-in-law, Robert Gaines of Cedar Rapids, three sisters-in-law, Hollie Gaines of Minneapolis, MN, Mary Beth Gaines of New Orleans, LA, and Alice Gaines of Des Moines; brother-in-law, Adam Gaines of Cedar Rapids and two nieces, Sophie and Hazel May.

A memorial gathering of family and friends will be held from 5 - 7 p.m. Thursday, December 21, at Iles-Dunn's Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to ChildServe in Johnston. Online condolences will be welcomed at IlesCares.com.
