Billie Fae Finch, 92, passed away Sunday, January 1, 2017, at Mercy Hospice in Johnston. Services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, January 9, at First Presbyterian Church in Grimes where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Sunny Hill Cemetery in Grimes.
Billie was born November 18, 1924, in Royce City, TX, to Lawrence and Mary (Aday) Graham. She married Dr. Robert Finch on July 14, 1945, in Fort Worth, TX. Billie worked with her husband in his veterinarian practice in Grimes for 28 years. She spent the next twelve years in Carroll working as a special education assistant and in 1986 she fully retired. They returned to Grimes where Billie was active in the First Presbyterian Church and Grimes American Legion. She also enjoyed playing bridge, cooking, baking pies and teaching her granddaughters how to cook.
Billie is survived by her children, Cheryl (Mike) Wessels of Granger and Ted Finch of Waukee; three grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and one on the way. She was preceded in death by husband, her parents and twelve siblings.
