It sounds like it was time for her to cross over the threshold. Her music will no doubt precede her and announce her arrival. It is such a gift that her family was able to be with her and surround her in her closing days.
Colleen always gifted me with honesty, hospitality and humor. I loved that she cared more about her music than her doctrine. Through the years of her life she blessed so many and gave so freely of her gifts!
I imagine there are many things to think about as you put the physical things of her life away and reflect on the many unspoken connections you shared with your mother through the routine of the years. May you find strength and comfort in the days ahead as you walk the wheel of time and look forward to celebrating her life with family gathering at the lake this summer.
On the journey.......Naomi

I am sorry to hear of your mom's passing.
Your mom and your dad were so important to both Brad and me. They were friends, of course, but more than friendsmodels, coaches, teachers, enthusiastic supporters. Your mom was one of the most creative and unconventional thinkers I have ever known. She and I used to do sketches for the Sweetheart Banquet back in the Westover Days. She made us all laugh with her witticismssuch as, you know you're not dead if you can still smell yourself. She had a surprisingly rugged independence, toolike sheetrocking that boathouse! And her garden up at the cottage. She loved beauty and music and her family. I can conjure her laugh with no hesitation. We were so blessed and just plain lucky to have known both of them. I feeltodaythe world is a sadder place with those particular lights not GONE, but less accessible to us in the flesh.
Love to you and Bonnie and all your family.
Pam
