Dan Olson Obituary
Des Moines
Dan Olson, 64, went to be with his heavenly Father on Friday, July 26, 2013. He was born April 23, 1949 to Archie and Rachel (Martin) Olson.
Dan married Fay (Foster) on February 16, 1981 in Des Moines. He was an Army Veteran who served in Viet Nam, he then later retired from the USPS in 2009.
He is survived by his wife of over 30 years, Fay; son, Gregory (Tara) Wright; daughter, Krysten Olson; four grandchildren, Madison, McKenna, Mason, and Manning; sisters, Ramona (Jim) Watson and Sally Lawson; and many nieces and nephews that he loved greatly.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Esther; brothers, Art and Edward Glen.
Funeral Services will be held, 11 a.m., Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at Hamilton's Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St., Des Moines, Iowa. Visitation will be held one hour prior.

Dan and I were good friends from Jr high at Lincoln all the way through high school. of course we lost touch with each other after school, but I never forgot him. I'm so sad to see him go and I wish I could be there. I live in Ct. now and it would be impossible for me to get there at this time. Like dan, I too am a Viet Nam vet. Salute to my friend and comrade. My heart is with his family at this time. God bless you.
