DUANE EDWARD SHEETS
Des Moines
Duane Edward Sheets passed away on October 1, 2009. He was born on January 1, 1935 to Cary and Opal Sheets.
Duane is survived by his wife, Joyce Sheets, three children, Dianne Noland, Bruce Sheets and Duane Sheets II, Sister Margaret Aschan, Brothers Donald and Marvin Sheets, eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Duane worked for Meredith Donnelly until his retirement in 1994. He enjoyed being a Fix-it-man for his family and friends. Duane was a 1951 graduate of East High and played the trumpet in the band.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, October 5, 2009 at Hamilton's Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street in Des Moines. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, October 4, 2009.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the National Alliance on Mental Illness of Iowa, 5911 Meredith Drive, Ste. E. Des Moines, Iowa 50322-1903
