Edna Barr, 104, passed away Sunday, April 24 at the Stuart Care Center.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 29 at the United Methodist Church in Dexter with burial at Dexter Cemetery. Friends may call after 3:00 p.m. Thursday, April 28 at the church where family will greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m.

Edna was born in Murray, Iowa and raised around the Stuart area. She married Dwight Barr and they had two daughters and 3 sons. She was a member of the Dexter Methodist Church, taught Sunday school and was in Garden Club.

Edna was known for her fried chicken, mashed potatoes, gravy and baked beans.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dwight; daughter, Meriam and son-in-law, Chuck Jurgensen; daughter, Darlene and son-in-law, Donald O'Brien; four brothers and 3 sisters.

Edna is survived by her sons, Robert (Janice); Darwin (Sheryl) and Darrel (Deb) and over 60 grandchildren and great-grandchldren.

I remember giving Edna a driving test in her 90's and she passed. I think she was the oldest driver that did that.
