Perry
Graveside services for Eva Payton, 105 of Perry have been set for 11 a.m. Friday, August 19, 2011 at Violet Hill Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the Rowley Masonic Home Chapel.
Eva was born June 5,1906 in Bayard, Iowa the daughter of Clint and Maude Cain Cornish. She married Jerry Holliday and later married Eldon Payton on August 10, 1939 in Bethany, Missouri. Survivors include several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, two brothers, one sister and companion Claude Morain.
A memorial has been established to the First United Methodist Church in Perry and Hospice of Central Iowa and may be left at Murdock Funeral Home .

We have many fond memories of Eva in the past 24 years, and for the past 16 years I have called her at 11a.m. every Saturday morning. Eva was one sharp lady and we could talk on any subject such as current events, Iowa Hawkeyes/Iowa State Cyclones coaches and players. Eva enjoyed talking about three court women's basketball which she had played during her high school day.
I could go on for hours! We celebrate her wonderful life, and we thank her relatives for sharing her with us.

Very fond memories of E&E Hardare Store.
I have been carrying a silver dollar since 1973 to wear is smooth as Eldon did.
I do not recall a visit with Eva that she didn't make me laugh.

One of the sweetest, sunniest people I've ever met. I have fond memories of visiting Eva & Eldon while staying at my grandma's (Nadine Stoner) during summer breaks from school. Her smile and personality were infectious.
