Grace Heiser Obituary
Des Moines
Grace E. Heiser, 92, passed away Monday, May 26, 2014 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston.
Grace was born September 2, 1921 in Byron, Nebraska to Harmon and Ruth Hayes. She spent her younger years in Nebraska and settled in Des Moines in 1956. Grace enjoyed playing cards with her card group on Sundays, going to her TOPS meeting on Wednesdays, visiting the Senior Center and spending time with her grandchildren.
Grace is survived by her children, Diane (Steve) Tost, David (Diane) Heiser, Larry Heiser, Phillip (Anna) Heiser and Jeff (Lori) Heiser; 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Romain; two sisters; a brother; eight step-siblings; and her parents.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 2, 2014 at Christ the King Catholic Church, 5711 SW 9th Street followed by burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday with a Prayer Service at 6:30 p.m. at Hamilton's Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Mercy Hospice in Johnston or Christ the King.
