Jacqueline Petersen Obituary
Urbandale - Jacqueline Peterson, 85, passed away Saturday, December 29, 2018 in Urbandale, Iowa.
Jackie was born May 21, 1933 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the daughter of Bernice and John Johnson. She moved to Des Moines in 1955 and had lived in Urbandale since 1963.
She retired as a Claims Examiner for American Republic Insurance Company in 1993. She was a member and former Sunday School teacher at the Open Bible Temple Church when it was located in Urbandale. Jackie was a participating member for the Iowa Chapter Lupus Foundation, Arthritis Foundation and Mercy Heritage. She also supported her husband's company, Peterson Pest & Termite Control, performing the billings and the bookkeeping.
Jackie was a woman who took pleasure in the various things in life. She enjoyed traveling, reading, playing games and going to church. She made a special effort to dine with friends and family. A couple of her favorite pastimes were watching NASCAR and retiring to watch "The Price is Right" every day.
Jackie is survived by her daughter-in-law, Cindy, her grandchildren Wendy (Conrad) Hanson and Rick (Gigi) Peterson and 5 great-grandchildren; Alexis Luscombe-Ronnau, Carson Peterson, Mia Wong, Jasmine Wong and Hannah Hanson.
Her husband, John Peterson, and two sons, Gary and Kurt, and her brother Robert Johnson preceded Jackie in death.
A private graveside service will be held at a later date.

Jackie was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother. She will be dearly missed.
