James R. Bascom, 64, passed away peacefully on June 30, 2010 at the V.A. hospital in Des Moines. Jim was born on March 29, 1946 to Herbert and Romell Bascom. Jim served in the Air Force from 1965 to 1971 in air conditioning and refrigeration. Some of Jim's hobbies and interests included cooking, hunting, cars, airplanes and weather.
Jim is survived by his wife Tracy, children; Tyler, Hunter, Heather and Heidi, grandchildren; Sahn and Kiara, sisters and brother; Mary, Carol, John (Juliet) Theresa (Laurence), nieces and nephews; Jessica, Rachel, Nina, Dante, Frank, Tom (Molly), Katie (Dean), Derek (Dena), Nicole (Chad), Heather, Madison and Nikki, great nieces and nephews; Andrew, Megan, Eric, Alison, Jaxson, Landry, Isabella and Ian, along with many special friends. Jim has been laid to rest at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Van Meter, Iowa.
