James "Jim" Lyttle

Jim Lyttle went home to be with his Savior October 8, 2016, leaving behind a legacy of faith and memories for family and friends to celebrate. A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 22, 2016 at Iles Grandview Park Chapel in Des Moines at 10am with a visitation starting at 9am.

James "Jim" David Lyttle was born to Thomas and Mae (Edwinson) Lyttle June 8, 1944 and was raised with his siblings in Ames, IA. Upon graduation from Ames High School in 1962, Jim started towards his career as a plumber and also served the state of Iowa and the nation during his tenure of service in the IA National Guard.

Retiring from AJ Allen Mechanical Contractors and Local Union #33 in 2004, Jim enjoyed more time with family and friends. Jim loved to serve those around him and his heart of generosity will long be remembered.

Those left to remember Jim's legacy include: his wife, Sharen (Lee); children: Lonnie Lyttle, Kathy Kozlowski, Jennifer (Todd) Fleharty, TJ (Julia) Lyttle, and Trish Lyttle; siblings: Judy (Bill) Gulliver, Tom Lyttle, Janis (Stone) Bendinger,and Jon (Sun) Lyttle; six grandchildren, one great granddaughter, and countless friends who were impacted by Jim's life. Jim was preceded in death by his mother, father, and beloved sister, Toni Mae.

A Memorial fund has been established in Jim's honor at Community Choice Credit Union in Des Moines.
