Joyce Bixby Obituary
Des Moines
Joyce A. Bixby, 69, passed away peacefully on Tuesday. Joyce was born in Clarence, Iowa on February 8, 1944, the daughter of Edwin and Margret Griem.
Joyce married Lucius "Butch" Bixby on January 1, 1966 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She worked as an accountant and was a member and President of American Business Women Associates. She was a long time active member of Urbandale United Church of Christ and a graduate of lay academy through the church.
Joyce is survived by her husband, Butch; brother, Keith (Neva) Griem; two sons, Scott (Jen) Bixby and Wesley (Gina) Bixby; five grandchildren: Justin, Carter, Ethan, Emily and Olivia.
Memorial service will be at 11 a.m., Friday, at Urbandale UCC with Rev. David Sickelka officiating.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Urbandale UCC.

To the Bixby family my thoughts and prayers go out too. Joyce's memorial was very nice. I know she was looking down on us when we sang a Christmas song saying that is what I wanted. We will miss her.

Butch and Family, I'm so sorry to hear of Joyce's passing. What a great lady! I will miss her at church sitting by the entry door to worship. I will remember being invited to your home for a Christmas luncheon and all of Joyce's prized Christmas decorations. What a collection old and new. I'm glad that she was my friend. Ruth Brauer

I have known Joyce for long time. First worked with her at Seneca, then I got her to join ABWA. For the past several years Joyce had this wonderful Christmas dinner. We will miss you.

I knew Joyce through Challenge Chapter of American Business Womens' Association. Sorry to hear of her passing. She often spoke of her grandchildren and I am sure you will miss her.
