Justin Lee McDowell, 39, passed away on Thursday, August 31st, 2017 in Sacramento, California. Justin was born on January 19, 1978 in Fort Dodge to Melanie and Michael McDowell.
Justin had a passion for baseball, his favorites being the Chicago Cubs & Iowa Cubs. Justin will be remembered for loving his girls first and foremost. His daughters played guitar and piano and they were recently teaching him to play. Justin will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Karen; daughters, Jade, Jaqueline, and Caroline; mother, Melanie Vivone; brother, Matt (Ann) McDowell; step-brother, Eric (Allison) Odegaard; step-sisters, Amy (Steve) Young and Gina (Clay) Gentile; step-mom, Jean McDowell; grandparents, James (Allene) Cooper; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Mike McDowell; step-father, Mike Vivone; and grandparents, Jean (John) Feller and Delton and Betty McDowell.
Visitation will be held at 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 12, 2017, with funeral service following at 6:30 p.m., at Hamilton's Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street in Des Moines.
Memorials may be directed to the family in loving memory of Justin.
