Kay A. Ling, 68, passed away Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at Trinity Center at Luther Park.

Kay was born August 20, 1946 in Sioux City, Iowa to Herman and Dorothy Bryne. She graduated from East High School in Sioux City. Kay retired from Principal Financial Group in 2006. She was a member of Glad Tidings Assembly Church. Kay enjoyed singing and loved her pets.

Kay is survived by her children, Cindy (Tom) Carney, Brian (Helen) Ling, Brad (Sheila) Ling and Mark Ling; siblings, Susan Grove and Bruce Bryne; nephews; nieces; ten grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a host of beloved friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Douglas Earl Ling; brother, Thomas Bryne; and her fur babies, Annie and Belle.

The family will greet friends Thursday, February 12, 2015 beginning at 12:30 p.m. with the funeral service following at 2:30 p.m. at Hamilton's Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. Kay will be laid to rest at Avon Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Animal Rescue League of Iowa, Hospice of Central Iowa or the Alzheimer's Association.

The East High class of 64 is sorry to hear of Kay's passing. Although Kay had not been able to attend our class reunions, I remember her laugh and sense of humor from high school.
