Leslie Terrell, 89, passed away Sunday, March 17, 2013 at the VA Community Living Center.

Leslie was born December 11, 1923 in Des Moines to Henry and Anna (Shelton) Terrell. He proudly served in the U.S. Air Corps during WWII. Leslie retired from Roberts Dairy in 1985 after 34 years of service in the dairy industry. He was a member of the I-Club, Cottage Grove Presbyterian Church and the Drake Bulldog Tip-Off Club. Leslie was an avid Hawkeye fan, enjoyed playing the piano and writing poetry and letters. He also was an animal lover and enjoyed spending time with his family.

Leslie is survived by his daughters, Katie Hess and Ruth Terrell; son, Mark Terrell; siblings, Marguerite Gross, Kenneth Terrell, and Ruth Morris; granddaughter, Lisa Hutchins; and great-granddaughter, Julia Hutchins He was preceded in death by his wife, Julia Dean McPherson.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 30, 2013 at Cottage Grove Presbyterian Church, 1050 24th St.

Memorial contributions may be directed to Cottage Grove Presbyterian Church.
