Madelon "Pat" Bassarear, 85, died Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at her home in Urbandale. A Memorial Service will be 7:00 pm, Monday, July 21, 2014 at Windsor Presbyterian Church where her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Pat was born May 22, 1929 in Des Moines to Delpha and Virginia (Adams) Alexander. She was a graduate of Roosevelt High School, a member of the Auburn Chapter of the Eastern Star and a deacon at Windsor Presbyterian Church. Pat was passionate about music and loved spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors include her children: James Bassarear of of West Des Moines, Janell (Rich) Rollins of Des Moines, Jeff (Rhonda) Bassarear of Urbandale; grandchildren: Rochelle, Renee, James, Janea, Justina, Patrick, Erin, Francisco, Lori, Brian, Jaime; sister, Betty (Stan) Rains of Des Moines; and several nieces and nephews. Pat was preceded in death by her brother, Dean Alexander and husband, Jim Bassarear.

To Pat's family. My Mother, Helen Cunningham and I send our deepest sympathies for your loss. My Mother knew Pat over 60 years. She was such a lovely lady, always concerned about other people's problems and always her wonderful laugh. We will both miss her. Sorry we could not attend the memorial.
