Margaret Louise Swartz Freimuth died January 20, 2016. Born in Moulton, Iowa, January 6, 1926, she graduated from Moulton High School in 1943 and Iowa Methodist School of Nursing in1946. She worked at Blank Children's Hospital during the polio epidemic.

Margaret met her husband, Bill Freimuth, through friends and relatives. They were married at First Methodist Church on December 13, 1947.

A "recycler" and "conservationist", Margaret loved gardening and hanging laundry outside. Margaret and Bill camped all over the country and traveled throughout Europe; they followed the Hawkeyes to bowl games and tournaments, from Alaska to Texas.

After sixty-one years in their house, they moved to Calvin Community in 2014, and found a wonderful new community of friends. Preceding Margaret in death were her parents, Mina and Burt Swartz, brother, William Swartz, sister, Mary (Robert) Watkins, and son, Robert Freimuth. Margaret is survived by her beloved husband of sixty-eight years, Bill Freimuth, and her daughters, Mary, Lora, and Julie. Margaret was greatly loved by her four granddaughters, Katie Lenhart (Garry), Deborah Helt, Christa Kraft (Brian Pew), and Sarah Helt, and her four great-granddaughters, Eryn, Maya, Kyra, and Carly Lenhart.
