Marvin Ellison passed away Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at the Carlisle Care Center. Memorial Funeral Services will be held at 6:00 PM, Thursday, June 9, 2016 at Peterson Funeral Home in Carlisle; Visitation will begin at 5:30 p.m. Thursday. Burial of ashes will take place in the Avon Cemetery.
Marvin was born November 20, 1932 in Carlisle, Iowa to Raymond and Orpha Keeney Ellison. Marvin was a lifelong Carlisle resident and worked for the Iowa Veterans Hospital from 1959-1969. Marvin also worked as a custodian for Carlisle Schools for 15 years. Marvin was a member of the Carlisle United Methodist Church. Marvin is survived by his brother, Roland (Marj) Ellison of Des Moines; sister, Nancy Cameron of Harrison, Arkansas; 3 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Marvin was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Joan; daughter, Carol Ann McCrory and a brother, Jerold Ellison. Online condolences may be made at www.petersonfuneralservice.com
