Mary Ann Quint 89, of Ames, passed from this life on November 12, 2015 at Bethany Manor in Story City.

Mary Ann Quint was born February 19, 1926 in Winthrop, IA to Hugh and Maree (Miller) Connolly. After graduating from Winthrop High School in 1943, Mary Ann attended Iowa State Teachers College. She taught for two years in an Amish community near Independence and another 48 years at East Buchanan Community Schools. Teaching was her passion.

In 1948, Mary Ann married Paul T. Quint and to this union were born three children: Mona, David and Angela.

Mary Ann is survived by her son David (Kathy) Quint, London; son-in-law Terry Ball, Iowa City; daughter Angela (Jim) Nespor, Ames; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; her sister, Della (Babe) Ramsey, Cedar Rapids and brother, Jim Connolly, Chicago .

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Paul, daughter Mona, and two brothers John and Ray Connolly.

A celebration of Mary Ann's life will be held at a later date, possibly in the spring--her favorite time of year.

You taught my mother, aunts, uncles, sister, brothers, and myself while @ East Buchanan. You could be tough but now that I'm older, I know it's simply because you cared. Mrs. Quint.......Thank You.
