Michael Boyd Obituary
Altoona
Mike Boyd, 57, was born June 1, 1957 in Garner, Iowa to William and Betty Boyd. He passed away suddenly Tuesday, January 20, 2015.
Mike worked for American Concrete for 10 years and enjoyed horses, riding motorcycles, being outdoors and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Dawn Chapin; children, Shane (Annie), Justin (Michelle), and Ashley (Luke Daughenbaugh); step-daughter, Nicole Chapin; nine grandchildren; siblings, Rod, Patti, Rocky (Pat), and Debbie (Steve) Cave; as well as his nieces, nephews, many special relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death his parents and his daughter, Shannon.
Family will begin greeting friends at 9:00 a.m. Friday, January 23, 2015, with a celebration of life scheduled to start at 11:00 a.m., at Hamilton's Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines.

I have great memories of Mike, especially when I was a kid. I often spent time at the Boyd house as Ashley and I were close. I'll never forget Mike's kind smile and generous laugh. I hope you are resting in peace with the Lord. BIG hugs and prayers to the family! xoxo

So sorry for your loss. I know my husband Mike had lots of great memories working at American Concrete with him. He also had lots of fun riding motorcylces together. I enjoyed our visits as well.

I'm saddened by Mikes passing, as we were great friends who just drifted apart!! We shared many unbelievable moments whether we were riding, working, or partying together!!! Mike always had a smile on his face, and the most infectious laugh!! Mike was a great rider, (motorcycle) and I know he's riding in the most beautiful places in perfect weather that goes on 24/7 365 days a year!! One great memory of Mike was when we camped out in Boone IA, at the Fathers Day Rodeo in 2000ish. Well we decided to hop on the Boone Speedway by opening an unlocked gate, we rode 3 laps before security could get us off!!! We laughed all the way back to the campgrounds!!! Mike you were a true friend to everyone you ever met, and you are already truly missed!! May peace be with you!!
