Dr. Hirsch delivered my two children in the early 80's. He was a wonderful physician and such a nice, caring person. My first child was born on a Wednesday and on Friday Dr. Hirsch recommended I stay in the hospital over the weekend. You don't hear of that anymore. RIP Dr. Hirsch

Dr. Hirsch was such a wonderful man! He was compassionate, caring and had a wonderful sense of humor, which made each visit comfortable. I've thought of him fondly over the years, and am saddened to hear of his passing. Rest in Peace Dr. Hirsch.

Dr. Hirsch delivered my daughter 50 years ago; he was my first...and best...gynecologist. He always made me feel as though I were his only patient and that he was always glad to see me. I still measure all physicians' demeanor by his attitude toward his patients. My condolences to his family.

Dr. Hirsch...a remarkable man indeed! He truly cared about his patients. He delivered both my boys. On the second one a partner of his was the one on call - but I didn't know him as well - Dr. Hirsch told the delivery room or whoever it is - to call him when I was close to delivering and he'd be there! And he WAS! I've always been so appreciative of his "bedside manner" so to say. And his sense of humor was unbelievable! My husband has a high regard for him also. He will be in our prayers and his family also. He will be missed!! God bless!!

I met Dr. Mike Hirsch and DR. Milton Mark during my Ob- Gyn residency and was so impressed by their surgical abilities, integrity, patient care, and thoughtfulness that joining their practice was an easy decision. I never regretted that choice. First Milton, now Michael have left us. Their effect on so many will live on. May they both rest in peace.

Dr hirsch delivered my son and daughter 37 years ago. He was such an amazing doctor and human - they don't make them them like him anymore. I remember at my son's birth on June 11977 he came into the delivery room telling everyone about what food they were having at his office picnic. RIP dr hirsch. Joyce

It was with great sadness that I learned this morning of the passing of Michael Hirsch. I first met Michael in 1973 when I was a resident in Ob/gyne at the University of Iowa. He was a wonderful teacher and role model for a young physician. I came to know him much better when I returned to Des Moines in 1975 to practice. In my two years in practice in Des Moines no one could have been more supportive in helping me to become successful. Not only was Michael a wonderful physician but he was extremely sensiitive to the feelings of both his patients as well as his friends. His sense of humor was terrific and I am going to miss knowing his not here. My heartfelt condolences to Mary and The rest of Michael's family

Nearly 40 years ago, when I had no insurance and a low paying job, Dr. Hirsch said I should have surgery. When I explained that I couldn't afford it, he said he would do it for free because it was that important (and he did.) They don't make them like that anymore. He will be missed.
