Patrick Walsh Obituary
Des Moines
Patrick A. Walsh went home to be with his Savior on December 5, 2013 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. He was born in Des Moines on January 5, 1962 to James and Betty Walsh. Patrick graduated from Lincoln High School in 1980 and from Drake University in 1985. He was a Senior Circulation Marketing Analyst at August Home Publishing Company. He enjoyed traveling, golfing, photography and beating everyone at a game of pool. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and friends. He was a devoted husband and father and loved his Lord and Savior.
He was survived by his wife of 28 years, Marguerite; sons, Sean of Orlando, FL and Skylar of Des Moines; four siblings, Diana (Tom) Davisson of Denver, CO, Kathy (Mark) Mattiussi of Norwalk, Mark (Kim) Walsh of Tucson, AZ and Matt Walsh of Atlanta, GA; eight nephews and nieces; two great-nephews; and one great-niece. He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew.
Visitation will be Sunday, December 8, from 3 to 6 p.m. at Hamilton's Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 S.W. Ninth Street, Des Moines. Funeral service will be held on Monday, December 9, at 10 a.m. at Willow Creek Baptist Church, 720 Army Post Road, West Des Moines. Burial will be at Glendale Cemetery, Des Moines.

Dear Family of Pat: I also do not know any of you, but when the most recent copy of the Drake Blue came out and I saw "Patrick A. Walsh" in the obit column, I just had to see if it was my friend 'Patrick A'. Pat and I worked together at the car rental agencies at the DSM airport while we were in college. I was at Drake, and Pat was at one of the junior colleges - I forget which one - but through our many conversations, he decided to go to Drake instead of Iowa/Ames. I considered Pat a good friend at that time, and was sad when we lost touch after I got transferred to Chicago for work. I can tell from the wonderful words here that Pat did indeed have a wonderful and blessed life, and my prayers are with you all at this time.

Dear Family of Pat,
I do not know any of you. I worked with Pat at American Mutual Life while he was still attending Drake. I have many fond memories of him. He was a wonderful person so full of life. We lost touch as people do as life goes on. I pray for all you in your time of grief. May your memories of him bring you comfort. God Bless you all.
