Phillip Leach

St. Charles - Phillip W. Leach passed away April 25, 2018 in Indianola Iowa. Phil was born January 15, 1927 in Winterset, and was the only child of Mack Leach and Hazel (McCauley) Leach.

After serving in the U.S. Army in WWII, Phil married Jeanette Carr and they shared 70 years of marriage, living mostly on their farm in St. Mary's Iowa where they raised their children. Phil was a proud Mason and American Legion member. He worked at Armstrong Tire for 25 years and farmed his whole life.

He is survived by his wife, Jeanette, and his daughters, Mary (Dwight) McCormick, Phyllis (Gene) Rife, Pam (Bruce) Dage, and Karen (Scott) Kibbe. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandkids. He was preceded in death by his son, Phillip Joel.

Visitation will be Monday, April 30 at the Peterson Funeral Home in Indianola from 5-7 pm. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 1 at 10:30am at Peterson Funeral Home. A burial with military honors will follow at St. Charles Cemetery.
