Richard W. Truckenbrod, 65, of Winterset, Iowa, died February 11, 2010 at the Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday, February 16, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Winterset. Burial will be in the Winterset Cemetery.
Richard was born at Ames, Iowa to Roy & Lucille (Roberts) Truckenbrod and was married to Diane Sue Powers. He had been a lifetime resident of Winterset, having owned and operated Truckenbrod Machine Shop until 1988 when he became a salesman for Des Moines Iron and Supply. Richard served in the US Air Force, was a founding member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, and was a 40 year member of the Winterset Fire Department, with 19 years as chief.
Richard is survived by his wife, Diane of Winterset; children, Lori (Mike) Olmstead of Eagle Grove and Jason (Tammy) Truckenbrod of Winterset; brother, Phillip Truckenbrod of Hartford, CT; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be Monday from 2 to 8 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church with family receiving friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Memorials given to the family will be directed to Winterset Firefighters Association or his family for a future designation.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by McCalley - Collins Funeral Home in Winterset.
