To the family, you have my sincere condolences. When someone falls asleep in death (Ecclesiastes 9: 5,10) the memories we have of them become our most precious treasure. May those memories comfort you as well as Gods promise at John 6:40.

Shocked and sad to hear this. Just the Th before Thanksgiving, Dr. Weber was at one of my student's PhD defense as a committee member. It was normal as always, and he also mentioned that he had travel plans coming up starting with Thanksgiving, and that he will not be attending our weekly group meetings for a while. So sad.
Dr. Weber has been a father figure to our research related to sensors. He will remain a guiding force. May he always be smiling.

It is hard to loose such a great friend and mentor, it is hard to loose kind people and great spirit that we all learned from. He has been all of that....It is hard not to have him with us. He has been a great teacher, friend, an amazing mentor, and outstanding colleague...His place and his contributions, as well as his memories and teachings will always be with us.

Professor Robert Weber had been a wonderful colleague. I have been lucky to have had conversations with him and have learned from him both technically and personally. It is irreplaceable loss that he is no longer with us. He will be dearly missed and remembered, and I am thankful for having known him. May he rest in peace.

Professor Weber was an outstanding engineer, researcher, mentor, and above all a very caring human being, who transformed many lives. At the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at Iowa State University he worked for over a decade till 2010 as a brilliant and passionate academician . After his retirement in 2010, he came back and contributed to the department as Professor Emeritus, and was in the labs as late as a week before his passing, advising and attending PhD exams of his students. This indeed reflects his constant strive and love for making the world we live in a better place, and for sure he did so by training the next generation of change makers!
He will be dearly missed! May almighty give strength to his family and friends to bear this great loss.
May his soul rest in peace!
Ashfaq Khokhar, Professor and Palmer Department Chair of ECE,
(on behalf of Bob's ECE family: students, faculty, and staff)

Professor Weber had a profound impact on thousands of students and the field of Electrical Engineering. He was a wonderful colleague who I was always happy to see around campus extending into his retirement. He will be missed terribly, but he will live on through his students and their great accomplishments!

Joan, Bonnie, Tim and Brian... We so much appreciate the instant connection we made with Robert and Joan. We could not have asked for better neighbors. Your friendship has meant the world to us even making a point to stop and see us in Florida after we moved. There is comfort knowing that Robert is with Our Lord and Savior and we also will see him again. Until then Joan if you need anything from your Florida friends please feel free to ask. We love you and your friendship Paul & Carole

Joan,Bonnie,Tim,Brian and families; Lara and I express our deepest sympathies. Robert left a measurable mark on all who encountered him. I will be forever grateful for his mentoring me in all we accomplished in managing our backyard projects. His kindness, gentle spirit, and thoughtfulness is one to emulate.
