Roy Mann Obituary
Urbandale - Roy J. Mann Jr., 88, went to heaven on Friday, May 22, 2020 to be with his lovely wife Bernice Mann. There will be a private family service on Tuesday, May 26, 2020 at McLaren's Chapel in West Des Moines with entombment at the Resthaven Mausoleum. Roy was a veteran of the Korean War and loved to work with the VFW. We could find him every year at the Urbandale Fourth of July at the VFW trailer selling ice cream and pizza. He also loved going to garage sales and picking up toys and helping other people. Roy loved his two children and loved his two grandkids. He never knew a stranger and always had a smile on his face and a smile to say hello.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Roy's name to the Cancer Center of Iowa.

Roy was always a great gentleman. He knew his own mind and stated his beliefs with dignity and conviction. We miss him at Grace Lutheran Church.

Roy was always such a delight. I enjoyed working with him at Iowa Paint and staying in contact afterward. He was always concerned about every ones welfare. Blessings to Roys family. You are all in my prayers.

I am so sorry to hear about Roy. He was a nice person and I really loved talking with him. I will always remember the fun times we had at the Thanksgiving dinners and at Christmas time. I had just talked with him a couple of weeks ago saying I hoped we could get together for Fourth of July and some village and pie which he really loved I had just talked with him a couple of weeks ago saying I hoped we could get together for Fourth of July and some village and pie which he really loved, especially French silk pie. Jr. will always be remembered as a class mate in Logan school in Clark Co. South Dakota. A good friend. I will miss his phone calls! And his cheery voice!

I was saddened to see the obituary this morning that Roy had passed. In the 70's I hired Roy as asst. credit mgr. at Iowa Paint. He was a very loyal , trust worthy and hard working employee. Thanks to the corona virus, I was unable see Roy and was able to call him. My sympathy to John and Patty.

We were blessed to meet Roy at the West Des Moines Elks and shared many hours with him.
We thought long and hard about what to say about this genuine and nice friend but no words came close. After much thought it became simple. What would we miss most about Roy ? EVERYTHING.
