SALLY L. PICKETT

Sally Lou Pickett, 73, died peacefully on Thursday, May 14, 2009 surrounded by family and loved ones at her home.

In agreement with Sally's wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. A celebration of Sally's life will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 17, at Iles Funeral Homes - Grandview Park Chapel in Des Moines, where the family will greet friends for one hour prior to the service on Sunday.

Sally was born on April 30, 1936 in Des Moines, Iowa to Jackson L. and Stella Isabella (Davis) Stout. She married Charles Raymond Pickett on February 8, 1955 in Des Moines, where they made their home. Sally was a loving, caring and devoted wife and mother all her life.

She is survived and lovingly remembered by her husband of 54 years, Charles of Des Moines; three sons, Gary (Alona) of Altoona, Burle (Cindy) of Urbandale and Charles Jr. (Karen) of Des Moines; daughter, Shelley (Steve) of Thayer; brother, Dick (Sharon) Stout; one step- sister, Linda Thornton; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Sally was preceded in death by her parents; and one step-sister, Mignon Parkins.
