Sophia Jade Schmitz-Lewis was stillborn February 12, 2009 at Broadlawns Medical Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m., Monday, February 16, 2009 at St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Catholic Church, 1230 Merle Hay Rd., Des Moines, Iowa. Burial will follow at Glendale Cemetery. Visitation will be today from 5-7 p.m. at Westover Chapel with a Prayer Service at 7p.m. She will be missed by her parents, Andrew Lewis of Des Moines and Christyn Schmitz of Wells, MN; sister, Paige Lewis and brother, Cameron Lewis both of Des Moines; grandparents, Mark and Katy Schmitz of Wells, MN, Richard and Tammi Lewis of Des Moines, Patricia and Charles Hulgan of Des Moines; great grandparents, Gilbert Schmitz of Redwood Falls, MN, Robert Thomas of Sierra Vista, AZ, Al and Rosemary Griffin of Des Moines and Richard and Betty Lewis of Patterson, Iowa; aunt, Carolyn Schmitz of Wells, MN and uncles, Bob Schmitz of Minneapolis, MN and Rick and Liz Lewis and their daughters, Allison and Alissa of Norwalk and many other loving relatives. Memorial donations will be used according to the wishes of the family for something very special in memory of Sophia.
