Steven Hill Obituary
Urbandale
Steven Wayne Hill, 61, of Urbandale passed away on March 19, at Taylor Hospice House after a short but courageous battle with cancer. Steve had been employed at Krueger's as a mechanic. He loved golf, his racing game on PS3 and attending every race at the Newton Race Track. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday, March 22, 2010, at Hamilton's Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St.
Survivors include his wife, Cathey Halsten-Hill (Urbandale), mother, Mary Hill (Des Moines); children and step children; Heather (Chris) Maland (Ankeny), Kim (Michael) Schneider (Castle Rock, Colorado), Jeffery Hill (Ankeny), Amy Halsten (WDM), Sarah (Corey) Onnen (Des Moines) and Ronnie Halsten (Des Moines), his siblings Chris (David) Oliver (Clive), Larry (Diana) Hill (Des Moines) and four grandchildren; Stephanie, Carson, Connor and Lauren and one on the way. Steve was preceded in death by his father Wayne and brother, Ron.

My heart aches for you and family. Steve was such a wonderful, talented man. The memories I have of him were all made from his kindness and generosity. The love in his heart was so pure. Please let me thank you for my last moments with him. I will never forget his gentle touch on my face that day. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers.

He left us after a long battle but he left with his heart full of love and laughter. He gave so much of hisself to everyone and yet always had room to give more. He will be so missed but not forgotten

Cathey and Family - What a couragous battle Steve fought during his illness. The bond that your family has had during this time, is very special. I will miss Steve at Karoke, him and I were the only ones who valued the Rock And Roll songs instead of the country ballads. He will truly be missed. Keep the Lord by your side, he will help guide your thru this time.

Thinking and praying for your and your family during this time. I feel so blessed that I was one of the lucky ones to have known Steve...he will truly be missed. My fondest memory of Steve from the cruise is when he use to sing to me "Oh Canada" in honor of my little Canadian excursion...lol.
