Steven Rickabaugh

De Soto - Steven Rickabaugh of De Soto, Iowa, entered this world June 14, 1960, and passed from this life on October 9, 2018, aged 58 years well lived.

Born to Jeanette and LeRoy Rickabaugh in Des Moines, Iowa, Steve graduated from Carlisle High School in 1978 and entered the military becoming an Army Ranger with the 101st Airborne Division.

Steve worked as a police officer in Eldon, Missouri and was a life long sales professional with companies including Heritage Cablevision, Noble Ford, Ed Garner's Autorama, Nationwide and MetLife Insurances.

Steve loved to show cars, was featured in Muscle Mustang magazine, and owned four Trans Ams. He recently had the time of his life driving a 1977 Smokey and the Bandit edition Trans Am, reliving his youth.

Steve enjoyed his children and grandchildren, movies video games, and the love of all things history.

He was proceeded in death by his parents and grandparents. He is survived by wife Terri, daughter Lyndsie, step daughters Holly (Ron), April (Jeff) and Chrissy (Joe), grandsons Logan and Kayl and granddaughter Hadlee, his sister Teri, brothers Jeff and RD and a large group of friends.

A celebration of Life will be held at American Legion Post 403, Van Meter, Iowa, Friday October 19, 5 to 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be directed to the family.

Steve was a kind and gentle person who was a mentor and inspiration to all who knew him.
