William Beohm Obituary
William J. Beohm, 81, passed away March 6, 2021. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, March 11, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Church of the Nativity in Leawood, KS. Rosary will begin at 10:30 AM There will be no visitation. Mass will be live-streamed via Church of the Nativity's website (http://kcnativity.org). Bill was born May 22, 1939, in Dyersville, Iowa. Bill grew up on the family dairy farm near Greeley, Iowa. Bill married Marilyn Broell on July 4, 1959, and was blessed with 5 children. His greatest love was his family. Bill spent 50 yrs. in the Iowa banking industry. Throughout his career, he bought and managed several Iowa banks including Tama State Bank and Pinnacle Bank in Marshalltown. Bill was very active in the local communities and was also an avid Iowa Hawkeye Fan attending many games with family and friends. In 2013, Bill & Marilyn relocated to Overland Park, KS. Bill is survived by Marilyn Beohm, his wife of 61 years. Children Linda (Bruce) Hanson, John Beohm, Lisa (Paul) Hayek and Laura (Mark) Ovington; 9 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; sister Gloria (Jim) Whetstone; brother Allen (Carole) Beohm; sister-in-law Mary Jo Beohm; many nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death was his infant daughter, Mary; parents Fred & Louise Beohm; brother, Gary. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the KU Alzheimer's Disease Center and KC Hospice. The full obituary at www.porterfuneralhome. com.
