MATTHEWS ALICE LILLIAN (nee PEPLINSKI) May 24, 2014, age 100, passed away peacefully at Belle Manor Nursing Home in New Carlisle, Ohio. Beloved wife of the late Weston "Bama" Matthews. Dear mother of Judith Fitzgerald (Steven Hinaga) of Kailua, Hawaii, Maureen (Paul "Matt") Espo of Springfield, OH and Jan Emerson (Larry Taylor) of Escondido, California. Loving grandmother of five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. Loving brother of Matthew Peplinski of Eastpointe. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Anna Peplinski and 12 siblings. Visitation Thursday 5-8 p.m. with a 7 p.m. Rosary at the Wasik Funeral Home, Inc. 11470 E. 13 Mile Rd. (W. of Hoover), Warren. In state Friday 10 a.m. until time of Funeral Mass 10:30 a.m. at St. Faustina Catholic Church (formerly St. Edmund), 14025 E. 12 Mile Rd. (E. of Schoenherr Rd.), Warren.
