AMY ZEMMIN Obituary

ZEMMIN AMY L. (NEE LANDLESS) Passed away April 10, 2015, at 105 years of age. Dearly beloved wife of the late Robert R. Zemmin for 60 years. Loving mother to Michael (Brenda), Richard (Colleen), and Douglas (Mary Ellen). Cherished grandmother to Holly, Derek, Kristin, Ryan, Kendal, and Ethan. Dear great-grandmother to Dylan. Born in Preston, England to William Landless and the former Eliza Buxton, she was also a dear sister to Laura, Bill and Russ. She immigrated to America as a child, and lived in the Detroit area for the remainder of her life, witnessing two World Wars, 17 U.S. Presidents, the Great Depression, the beginning of the airline industry, and the evolution of the Space Age. She was a longtime member of St. Columba Episcopal Church in Detroit, and Christ Church of Grosse Pointe. Amy worked as an executive secretary for many years at Chrysler Corporation. She was also an accomplished homemaker, a fantastic cake maker, and an avid reader. Belle Isle, the East Side of Detroit, and The Village of Westland were close to her heart. A longtime fan of the Detroit Tigers and the Detroit Red Wings, she will be missed by everyone who she touched with her lovely spirit. Amy credited her long life to having a positive attitude. She never had a bad word to say about anyone. A family memorial service will be held at a later date. Donations can be made in her name to The American Macular Degeneration Foundation (AMDF) of Michigan, or to the Wayne County Library for the Blind in Westland, MI.
