Born July 30, 1936. Died October 5, 2006. Raised in Amherstburg, Ontario, Canada. Anna Mae received a Diploma of Registered Nursing from Windsor Metropolitan Hospital in 1957 and worked as a critical care nurse until retiring in 1998 from Detroit Receiving Hospital. Preceded in death by her parents, Stanley and Mary Richards; her son, Paul Alexander Kiraly and sisters Beverly Richards and Barbara Spivack. Survived by her partner of 24 years, Judith Cook. Loving mother of Christine Kiraly-Thomas (Kent) of North Brookfield, MA and Mary Virginia "Ginny" Kiraly-Walker of Birmingham, MI. Cherished grandmother of Gabriel Ramos, Elijah Thomas and Atticus Walker. Beloved sister of Mary Johnson of Baton Rouge, LA and James Richards of Royal Oak, MI. Dear friend of Linda Arndt and Jamie Desmarais. Memorial Service Saturday 4 p.m. October 14 at Thayer-Rock Funeral Home,33603 Grand River Ave., downtown Farmington (1 block W. of Farmington Rd.). Visitation 3 p.m. until time of Service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Michigan Nature Association, 326 E. Grand River Ave., Williamston, MI 48895 or the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History, 315 E. Warren Ave., Detroit, MI 48201.
