DR. JOSEPH A. ARENA Jr.

ARENA DR. JOSEPH A. JR., passed away Thursday July 2nd at the Exeter Hospital in Exeter NH. He was born in Lawrence MA son of the late Santa (Tomaselli) and Joseph Arena. Mr. Arena was educated in Lawrence MA graduating from Lawrence High School with the class of 1940 and later on went on to the University of New Hampshire graduating with the class of 1943 and later enlisting with United States Navy and serving his country during the Korean War. Upon returning from enlistment, Mr Arena enrolled and graduated from the John Hopkins School of Medicine. For many years Mr Arena practiced general and vascular surgery at William Beaumont and Madison Hospitals in metro Detroit. Mr Arena was a member of the American Legion Post 35 of Hampton NH, a member of the Model Railroad Club, and was on the planning board with the town of North Hampton NH for several years. Dr Arena leaves his wife of 70 years, Charlotte Arena of North Hampton NH, several nieces and nephews, two godchildren, and many friends. Mr. Arena is predeceased a brothers John J. Arena, Atty. Benjamin Arena, James J. Arena, sisters Mildred Berman, Connie Pepe, Josephine Spadafora. Services for Dr Arena were private. To leave online condolences please visit www.pollardfuneralhomecom.
